A new Historypin collection and an archive gallery on the history of inaugural lectures at Queen Mary are available now, highlighting some of the lectures that took place between 1937 and 1986.

They include invitations, posters, correspondence with speakers, and photographs of the lecture venues used to deliver the inaugural lectures at both Westfield College and Queen Mary.

For those interested in the history of this lecture series at Queen Mary, the archives holds various papers on inaugural lectures from Westfield College and QMUL dating back to 1918. This includes drafts and published texts of lectures, correspondence with speakers, and numerous posters, leaflets, invitations, and notices to advertise the lectures. For more information or to visit the archive please contact us on: archives@qmul.ac.uk

In October of 2015 Queen Mary re-launched the Inaugural Lecture Series. To see the programme of current and upcoming inaugural lectures being held at Queen Mary, including a new series titled ‘Meet our Professors,’ please see the QMUL Events page.
