Happy student conducting research

Excited about the 2012 Olympics but worried about getting to campus this summer? Did you know that Queen Mary Library provides access to 16,000 online journals, 142 electronic databases and 12,000 e-books, all available on-line 24/7?

Enjoy access to high quality information from the comfort of your home via the Library Catalogue or Articles Search, which allows you to search across all our full-text e-journal content.

Remember you need to log-in with your Queen Mary Teaching Service account username and password to access our resources when off-campus. Watch our short video which shows you how easy it is!

Rolling stacks, Whitechapel Library

The Queen Mary submission to the December 2011- May 2012 UKRR cycle consisted of Science journals from Mile End Library to which we no longer subscribe and which we did not put in the June- November 2011 cycle, as well as titles from West Smithfield and Whitechapel Libraries to which we either no longer subscribe or have electronic access. We have now received the results of this submission to the UKRR, and the British Library have told us we can dispose of the holdings submitted for this cycle.

Members of academic staff may take personal ownership of any of the titles listed for disposal. If you wish to do this, please complete the request form, which needs to be signed by the staff member and his or her Head of Department, and return it to your Academic Liaison Librarian before Friday 8 June 2012.

Francis Bancroft Building entrance

Extra quiet study space is being made available by Student and Campus Services in the Francis Bancroft Building during the exam period (30 April - 8 June) this year. Check the timetable, or the digital screens in the Francis Bancroft Building, for daily availability.

Additionally, other free teaching space will be made available for revision in the Francis Bancroft Building in the evenings between 6pm and 10pm.

Study desk at Mile End Library

To ensure that as many study spaces as possible are available in the Library in the run up to the exam period, desk clearing will be in operation in the Mile End Library until 1 June 2012.

This means that books and bags left saving study spaces are removed after being left for one hour unattended, to allow others to use the space. All items removed are bagged and numbered, and kept in a secure area until collected by their owners.

Please note that only Library staff can remove belongings from a desk. Thanks for your cooperation and happy studying everyone!
