Study Space Closures on the 1st floor, and Book Fetching Service in Operation - 5th August

Starting in the week beginning Monday 5th August, the ground floor Learning Lounge and 2nd floor of the Mile End Library will be re-opening, with the completion of works in these areas.  The whole of the 1st floor will be closing to study.

Starting in the week beginning Monday 5th August, some areas of the Mile End Library will be closing to study; the closures are part of a phased plan of works taking place during the summer to improve electrical, water and air handling in the building.  Please check back for the latest and look out for updates on social media, via mailing lists and eBulletin.




2nd floor and ground floor re-open to study

The 2nd floor of the Mile End Library has now re-opened fully, including Taught Postgraduate and Research Reading Rooms.  The ground floor Learning Lounge has also now re-opened, and works to the corridor outside the Seminar Room, and groups study rooms has now completed.  From Monday 5th August, the infrastructure works move to the 1st floor, with the North and South Reading Rooms, including the Silent PC Room closing to study.  More details below.

Contractors will be working on the roof to strip out old equipment.  Anyone studying around the 2nd floor may notice some noise from foot traffic overhead.

None.  The 2nd floor will be open as usual, and there is not expected to be any disruption as a result of the works.

The service will run Monday to Friday and there will be two pick up times a day at 11:00 and 15:00.
