ARCHIVES & SPECIAL COLLECTIONS READING ROOM CLOSURE
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Archives and Special Collections Reading Room at Queen Mary University London will be closing from 5pm on Thursday 19th March 2020 until further notice.
Our digital services and a limited enquiry service will continue to operate during this period.
We will announce any plans to reopen here and on the Library Services home page.
19 March 2020
The Mile End Library at Queen Mary University of London where the Archives and Special Collections on site service is run is closed. Therefore we are unable to offer appointments to view our collections on site, answer enquiries that involve checking physical records or provide scans of physical records not already on file.
We are still running our enquiry service and all enquiries will be answered within the usual 5 working days. Please email us email@example.com as we will not be monitoring the phone at this time. You can still ask us questions about our service, receive draft finding aids, request permission to publish and enquire about donating items. We can still offer you professional advice, help you use our catalogue and discuss your research with you.
We will fulfill all reprographic orders for free to help you continue your research in this difficult time. Please note we will only be able to send you scans of items that we already have on file as we are without access to our physical records.
Our online services will continue to be available to you including our online catalogue, published digitised collections and online galleries, and our Instagram where we will continue to post collections highlights and service updates.
Any enquiries that cannot be answered due to lack of physical access to our records or enquiries for an appointment will be resolved in 5 working days after our normal service is resumed. Details of when this occurs and any updates will be available here on our website, the library website and our social media channels.
Information about using library services as a whole during the Covid-19 outbreak is available on a regularly updated page here.
