Desk Clearing – ensuring our users benefit from maximising study spaces by minimising desk reservation
The Library is a working space for everyone. Study space is in very high demand, especially coming up to and during exam time.
For the most part, students feel it is unfair to reserve desks with belongings for long periods of time when the space could be used by others.
If you need to go for a break, please clear away your belongings so that another student can use the space especially if you are going to be away from your desk for an extended period.
If you are not actively working at your desk a Notice will be left by Security or Library Staff informing you that after 1 hour the desk will be cleared in order to free-up a study space for another student.
It's a good idea and good practice never to leave your valuables unattended, even for a short time.
