Authors wishing to publish via the gold open access route, enabling their research to be made open access immediately upon publication, are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC). The cost of the APC varies from publisher to publisher and in some cases may also include other publication costs as well as the open access fee. Queen Mary University of London has been awarded grants from a number of research funders to pay the open access fee.
For more information about research funder open access policies please see our Open access and your funder page.
Queen Mary also has a number of deals and agreements with publishers to help reduce costs and streamline the processing of open access publishing. Access to some of these publisher agreements are dependent on your research funder, others may be available to all Queen Mary authors. More details of our publisher deals can be found on the Publisher Open Access Agreements page.
