University of London students

Students studying together

University of London students are welcome to visit our libraries once per academic year using a One Day Pass, without the need to demonstrate a genuine research need. For more information please see our One Day Pass Policy page.

To check whether your institution is part of the network please see the University of London page.

University of London students who require repeated access may be able to access using the SCONUL Access scheme. If not, they are eligible to apply for our reference-only access membership by completing the Repeated access for external visitors form.

Temporary membership can only be granted to visitors who are able to demonstrate a genuine research need, i.e. a need to access specific resources held in our libraries' printed collections. Reasons such as a need for study space or proximity to our campuses cannot be accepted.

In order to apply for temporary membership please complete the online form and include:

  • A demonstration of your need to consult material held in the library
  • The printed resources you intend to use (please check the library catalogue)
  • The period of your planned visit

The maximum length of the membership is three months, renewable, and access during term time is limited to off-peak hours (from 18:00 to 00:00 during the week, from 08:00 to 00:00 at weekends).

Please note:

  • External visitors do not have access to PCs or electronic resources, or the Queen Mary Wi-Fi network
  • We reserve the right to restrict access during exam periods
