Welcome Week 2018

Welcome to Queen Mary University of London from Library Services!

A warm welcome to students joining Queen Mary University of London in 2018-19.  We hope that you enjoy your time with us, look forward to seeing you soon, and often, in our libraries at Mile End, Whitechapel and West Smithfield, and helping you find and use information resources and our range of study spaces.

During Moving in Weekend and Welcome Week, you’ll find all our usual library services, as well as some additional events to help you get started using the library, find your way around, and study well during your time here.

The Mile End Library is open 24/7 during Welcome Week. Library staff are there to help you from 08:00 to 21:30 on weekdays and between 09:00 and 20:00 on Moving in Weekend; peak time is between 12:00 and 14:00 when it's extra busy, so if you're making your way to us for the first time, try to avoid lunchtime, this will make it easier for us to help you if you have questions.

The Whitechapel Library is open from 08:30 to midnight during Welcome Week. For more information check our opening hours webpage

Once you are enrolled and have picked up your student ID, you will automatically have access to all of our libraries and study spaces to which you have privileges.  In order to make sure your first entry into the library goes without a hitch, do leave one hour for your student record to make its way over to our library systems, this will mean there are no delays with your entering the library, and helps us to keep congestion in the library entrance to a minimum.

Tours provide an introduction to the collections, facilities and services and are a great way to get started using the library.
